Types of Decking Materials

Wood Pressure Treated it is less expensive than other materials. It is treated to resist rot, mold and insects, but tend to crack overtime. It needs a constant maintenance with power washing, sanding or painting.

Cedar is a good choice if you like of natural wood. Resistant to rot and insects you may need to stain and seal it to prevent cracks. Without protection cedar will turn a soft gray color. 

Composite is the most resistant material, made from wood fibers and recycled  plastics.  They don't warp or rot and need little maintenance. Composite deck boards are looking like more to  real wood each day.
